Gina Ortiz, PA-C

Certified Physician Assistant

​Gina Ortiz, PA-C is a certified Physician Assistant. Her specialties include holistic integrative medicine and dermoscopy (skin cancer screening). She enjoys getting to the root cause of illness with the intention to heal and balance the whole person to achieve optimal health. She enjoys teaching patients how to modify unhealthy behaviors and promote healthy ones to prevent and manage chronic disease.

About Gina Ortiz, PA-C

Gina Ortiz (she/her) has been a Physician Assistant since 2008. New Mexican born native; she is a graduate of the University of New Mexcio PA program. She recently completed her fellowship in Integrative Medicine through the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine and completed an herbal foundations course with Dr Tieraona Low Dog.

Her passion is working with patients to obtain optimal gut health as she believes the gut microbiome impacts everything from nutrient absorption, good immune health, stabilized mood, healthy weight, reduced inflammation, and the prevention of chronic diseases. She works with her patients focusing on diet, microbiome testing, herbs, supplements, and lifestyle to address issues such as IBS, inflammation, and digestive issues holistically. 

 

Gina Ortiz is a lifelong learner and believes that caring relationships are a key component to healing and well-being. She has been an avid trail runner and lover of nature her entire life. 

 

She volunteers with the UNM Skin Cancer Center to provide free skin cancer screenings to underserved communities across New Mexico.​
